La Leche League South Africa (LLLSA) Breastfeeding Peer Counsellor Program aims to train Breastfeeding Peer Counsellors (PCs) to increase their competence, knowledge and skills in breastfeeding promotion, management, support and techniques to effectively help families reach their breastfeeding goals, ultimately increasing breastfeeding rates in South Africa and implementing a support system for PCs (through La Leche League), that will provide on-going access to updated breastfeeding information and support

Peer Counsellor Training Feedback

As a doula, I realized that I needed a course like this because often, if not always, breastfeeding is a part of preparing a mom for labour, birth and postpartum. The reason I signed up is because I felt I didn’t know enough to be able to advise moms confidently and this course has boosted my confidence. This was a wonderful course and being in a group setting like this also helped quite a lot because there was a lot of learning from each other in addition to the excellent content delivered so well - Sithabile
